I am from Asheville, North Carolina.  In April, I will graduate as an Honors and James B Angell Scholar and senior at the University of Michigan, majoring in Musical Theatre and minoring in Writing.  I will then move to New York City to pursue a career as an actress in Musical Theatre.  I was just named the recipient of the prestigious Alan Eisenberg/Actor's Equity Association Award, given to one graduating senior in Musical Theatre every year.  Last summer, I was awarded the 21st Century Artist Internship through UMS. I traveled across Texas, New Mexico, and Missouri as an intern with Muñoz Public Relations and the world-renowned Mariachi group, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.  Most recently, I starred as Clara Johnson in the University of Michigan’s production of the critically acclaimed musical, The Light in the Piazza.  I am the founder of Music At Mott, an outreach program at Mott Children's Hospital, bringing Musical Theater students to perform Disney music for patients on a weekly basis.  In 2012, I was named the Distinguished Young Woman of America, formerly known as America's Junior Miss, joining the ranks of women including Diane Sawyer and Debra Messing and earning over $45,000 in scholarships.

Welcome!  I am so happy you found your way here.  I created this space for my Minor in Writing at the University of Michigan.  It documents my evolution as a writer and as a person and how my experiences with light and darkness have shaped, and continue to shape, that evolution.  (You can learn more about me from my bio below!) Here, you will find an essay exploring how I've evolved as a writer during my four years at University of Michigan, a few pieces of my writing and a Capstone Project I created for my Minor documenting an outreach program I founded in our children's hospital on campus.  Thank you for taking time to be a part of my journey!

Success! Message received.
